A Montecristo Lane wood-frame home was destroyed by fire late Saturday night while the owners were away, Jefferson County Fire District 2’s fire chief said Sunday in Chimacum.
Bob Wilson said hot spots were doused Sunday at the remote 1,200-square-foot home off Cemetery Road.
“It had been burning probably a half hour before we got the call,” Wilson said Sunday. “The walls were gone.”
About 20 firefighters with fire district’s 1, 2, 4 and 5 responded to the blaze at about 11 p.m. Saturday, said Wilson.
