PORT HADLOCK — The Jefferson County Library here plans to close its doors for three weeks this summer for a $40,000 facelift.
Much of the library’s interior will be rearranged to “maximize space” during renovations that will close the library from Aug. 18 through Sept. 3, said Meredith Wagner, public services representative for the library, located at 620 Cedar Ave.
The library will also be recarpeted and get a fresh coat of paint for the first time in 10 years.
Under the new layout, staff space will be expanded, a new seating area will be placed beneath pre-existing skylights and the entrance to the children’s section will be moved to make it less isolated from the rest of the library, Wagner said.
