The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management has presented county comissioners with a plan that spells out how local government, fire and medical agencies would respond in the event of a major terrorist attack.
The 12-page document, made public for the first time, details how local agencies coordinate actions with each other as well as state and federal agencies — including the FBI — in the aftermath of a major terrorist incident.
No specific terrorist scenarios — such as bioterrorism or radiological attacks — are addressed in the document. The plan is expected to be approved by county commissioners Monday.
