Turkey and trimmings will be served in Jefferson County at several free community Thanksgiving feasts.

Community dinner
CHIMACUM — A Tri-Area community Thanksgiving dinner will be served at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday.
This free dinner, sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Olympic Community Action Programs, Senior Nutrition and the community center, will be cooked and served by volunteers.
Those unable to attend who would like to have the meal delivered can phone 360-385-2571, ext. 6357. Leave a message, and arrangements will be made to deliver the meal.
Turkey dinner
BRINNON — A community dinner will be held at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101, at 3 p.m. Thursday.
Turkey, dressing, gravy and mashed potatoes will be provided.
Participants are asked to bring side dishes. A sign-up sheet to prevent duplicate side dishes is available at the center.

Turkey day yoga
PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend resident Terry Wagner will host her fourth annual yoga class benefit for the Port Townsend branch of the Jefferson County Food Bank at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Church, 2333 San Juan Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.
Cost of admission to the class is a non-perishable food item or monetary donation to the food bank.
“Last year the community brought so much food, I couldn’t fit it all in my car. I love that kind of problem,” Wagner said.
Wagner, who has over 30 years experience as a teacher, will adapt the class to meet the needs of those who attend.
Attendees will need to bring a yoga mat and any other appropriate prop.

Peace vigil, dinner
INDIAN ISLAND — A Thanksgiving peace vigil and potluck picnic will be held at Lloyd Goode Park on Indian Island from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Members of the public are asked to bring food and drink to share.
In sunny weather, the picnic will be at the park shelter. In blustery weather, participants will spend a half-hour or so at the park, and then go to a nearby house.

West End dinner
FORKS — Feeding the Five Thousand will host a free community Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Forks Senior Center on Thursday.
The meal will be served from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the center on Maple Street, which has handicapped access and no stairs, said Sharon Adams, one of the organizers.
Feeding the Five Thousand, a project of the Nazarene Church that is under the umbrella of the Forks Betterment Association, offers free meals from noon to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, Adams said.
This week, there was no Tuesday meal, because of preparations for the Thursday diner.
