Sequim and Port Townsend will celebrate the Fourth of July with music.
A public picnic is planned in Quilcene, and Brinnon will celebrate with a fire department fundraiser and a community yard sale.
Sequim
The Sequim City Band will host its annual free Independence Day Celebration at the James Center for the Performing Arts, 563 N. Rhodefer Road at 3 p.m.
Tyler Benedict will direct renditions of such patriotic music as “America the Beautiful” by Samuel Ward, “American Flourish” by Robert Smith, the “National Emblem March” by E.E. Bagley and the band’s tribute to servicemen and women of the audience, the “Armed Forces Salute.”
The Sequim Rotary will sell hot dogs and drinks at the James Center, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Visitors are urged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, sunglasses and hats.

The volunteer-run KSQM-91.5 FM radio station will host its fifth annual Independence Celebration from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
Admission will be free to the party in the parking lot of the station at 577 W. Washington St.
“Donation dogs,” “benefit beans” and ice cold drinks will be offered, while the Sequim Valley Car Club shows off classic cars.
There will be plenty of food and art for sale.

Port Townsend
Centrum will present two concerts today: Fiddles on the Fourth at 1:30 p.m. and Fiddles and Fireworks at 7:30 p.m.
Fiddles Without Borders is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
All three will be at the McCurdy Pavilion in Fort Worden State Park with tickets ranging from $23 to $28.
The concerts are culminating events in a week-long festival of workshops that drew hundreds of musicians who play traditional American music.

The Port Townsend Summer Band will present its annual Independence Day concert at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
The performance by the community band will be at the American Legion hall, 209 Monroe St..
Admission is free.
The band’s conductor is Karl Bach, now in his 14th year with the band.
Band members are all volunteers who rehearse throughout the summer through Aug. 19 at the American Legion hall Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

No public display of fireworks will be offered in Port Townsend this year.
Quilcene
The Quilcene Historical Museum plans an Old-Fashioned Picnic Party on Saturday.
The picnic will be at 11 a.m. at the Linger Longer Meadow, 151 E. Columbia St.
Brinnon
A yard sale and a celebration are scheduled at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101.
The two-day Brinnon Community Yard Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday.
Household items, books, toys, jewelry and “manly things” are among the items to be sold.
The Brinnon Community Celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
Brinnon Fire Department personnel will sell ice cream bars hand-dipped in warm chocolate and rolled in crushed nuts as a fundraiser.
Vendors will sell pulled pork, hot dogs and ice cream.
Activities will include raffles, live music and karaoke and an open mic, and children’s activities include face-painting and pony rides.
