The Olympic National Park Visitor Center south of Port Angeles begins its spring schedule today, staying open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.
Hurricane Ridge Road also is open 24 hours a day, weather permitting, beginning today.
The road may close temporarily if there’s a late season snowstorm.
The Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center is open Friday through Sunday and will be open seven days a week beginning May 13.
The Forks Park and Forest Information Center is also open Friday through Sunday and will begin its summer schedule over the Memorial Day weekend.
Meanwhile, annual ditch clearing work along Hurricane Ridge Road is scheduled May 16-19.
During that time, the road will be closed at the Heart O’ The Hills entrance station between 5 a.m. and noon.
Most other park roads remain open 24 hours a day with some exceptions:
* Deer Park and Hurricane Hill roads, which are still snow-covered, remain closed inside the park boundaries.
* Queets Road is closed at Matheny Creek bridge because of road damage.
* Dosewallips Road remains washed out several miles outside the park boundary, blocking vehicular access into the park above Brinnon.
