SEQUIM — An early morning house fire sent one person to Olympic Medical Center with unknown injuries, according to a news release from Clallam County Fire District 3.
Firefighters arrived Saturday morning to find a single-story home on Salal Way with smoke and flames coming from the front door, the release stated. Sequim police officers were on scene and had pulled the resident out of the home. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation, the fire district said.
Their condition was not available Monday because the fire district did not identify the person.
Firefighters contained the fire to its room of origin, according to the release. Then they checked the house to confirm it had not spread to the attic or other areas of the home.
The fire district responded with 13 firefighters, two paramedics, two fire engines, one medic unit and one tanker.
Clallam County PUD confirmed electrical service was not affected.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday.
