Retired pathologist Marc Mauney has the advantage of more doctors’ endorsements and 10 times more money in his battle against Robert Bentley for an open Jefferson Healthcare hospital board seat.
But Bentley is trying to turn those into negatives in the Nov. 6 general election race for the six-year position.
The Jefferson Healthcare hospital board Position 3 race, and contests for open Port of Port Townsend and Port Townsend Fire District No. 1 seats, are the only Jefferson County races in which at least one candidate plans to spend more than $3,500 or accept individual contributions of $300 or more.
When they do what’s called full reporting, they must file detailed lists of contributors and expenses with the state Public Disclosure Commission.
Here’s a look at those races:
