Hood Canal Bridge closures set for tonight into Sunday

SHINE – The Hood Canal Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic several times tonight, with each closure lasting for up to 90 minutes.

The state Department of Transportation announced the closures Friday.

Between 9:30 p.m. tonight and 3:30 a.m. Sunday, construction crews working to replace mechanical components of the Hood Canal Bridge drawspan will close it to traffic several times for up to 90 minutes with each closure.

To keep traffic moving, the bridge will reopen to vehicles between each closure, Transportation said.

Construction crews are replacing mechanical components of the drawspan.

Drivers can get information at http://www.wsdot.com/traffic/hoodcanal/.

Advance notification of construction-related closures is also posted at the Olympic Region Weekly Construction and Traffic Updates web page.
