Hood Canal Bridge will be closed to traffic for five hours early next Tuesday for maintenance.
According to the state Department of Transportation, the bridge will be closed to vehicles from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m.
During the bridge closure, crews will replace guide rollers on the eastern half of the bridge.
The rollers guide the movable section into its retracted and locked positions.
The rollers were last replaced 16 years ago.
“This has nothing to do with the upcoming east-half bridge replacement and retroft,”‘ bridge supervisor Dean Crawford said last week.
