Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will hold public hearings May 16 and 18 on proposed rate increases in its nine water systems.
The first hearing will be at 6 p.m. May 16 at Clallam Bay School, 16933 Highway 112, Clallam Bay. The second will be at 10 a.m. May 18 at the PUD’s Carlsborg Operations Center, 110 Idea Place.
The proposed rate increases are 5 percent applied to both the base charge for water service and the daily charge that is tied to water usage. The proposed rate increases are to pay for future capital projects for the district’s water systems, including a new water treatment plant.
