Gov. Christine Gregoire called Lower Elwha Tribal Chairwoman Frances Charles to solicit the tribe’s position on the Hood Canal Bridge graving yard issue.
A spokeswoman for Gregoire said the governor’s call from Olympia on Tuesday was one of many that she made about issues she inherited from former Gov. Gary Locke.
“She’s making connections with various constituency groups,” said Anna Kim-Williams, deputy communications director, on Thursday.
“There are a lot of issues. She just wanted to hear their concerns.”
