GOP caucuses set across North Olympic Peninsula

Republicans across the North Olympic Peninsula will hold caucuses beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Jefferson County Republican Party will conduct a countywide pooled precinct caucus at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, Chimacum.

At the caucus, delegates will be elected to the county convention, which will be at the same place at 10 a.m. March 13.

The Clallam County Republican Party will hold caucuses throughout the county.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. for sign-in.

Clallam GOP will have a county convention April 10.

Caucus locations are:

• Sequim High School cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave., will host a pooled caucus for the following precincts: Agnew 201, Blyn 211, Carlsborg 214, Cline 217, Coyote 218, Diamond Point 221, Dungeness East 222, Dungeness West 223, Eagle 226, Elk 229, Happy Valley 237, Jamestown 240, Klahhane 243, Lost Mountain 9245, Macleay 247, Miller Peninsula 246, Monterra 249, Olympic 9254, Parkwood 256, Port Williams 258, Prairie North 259, Prairie South 260, Riverside 265, Robin Hill 266, Sunland North 270, Sunland South 271 and Sequim 1-6.

• Port Angeles High School Library, 304 E. Park Ave., will host a pooled caucus for the for the following precincts in the Port Angeles area: Port Angeles 1-26, Bayview 203, Belleview North 205, Belleview South 9206, Black Diamond 208, Blue Mountain 209, Bluffs 210, Clark 216, Deer Park 220, Dry Creek 224, Eden 227, Edgewood 228, Fairview 232, Freshwater Bay 233, Joyce 241, Madison Creek 248, Mount Angeles 250, Mount Pleasant 251, O’Brien 253, Piedmont 257 and Twin Rivers 274.

• Forks Community Center, 510 E. Division St., will host a pooled caucus for the following precincts: Beaver 204, Bogachiel 212, Clallam Bay 215, Elwha 230, Hoko 238, Quileute 262, Raven 264, Sappho 267, Sekiu 2680, Sun 269, Thunderbird 273 and Forks 1-5.

An individual caucus for Bell Hill Precinct will be held at the home of Wayne and Dorothy Van Winkle, 1353 Doe Run Road, Sequim, WA 98382.

At the county conventions, delegates are elected to the state convention, where the state party’s platform will be drafted for 2010.

The Republican State Convention will be in Vancouver, Wash., on June 10-12.
