Gas prices have plunged to their lowest level this year on the North Olympic Peninsula
The average price for regular unleaded was $1.48 a gallon, $1.61 for premium and $1.49 for diesel, AAA Washington spokeswoman Janet Ray said Wednesday.
Before this week, the lowest average prices on the Peninsula were recorded in January.
At that time, the average price for regular unleaded was $1.50 per gallon.
On Wednesday, prices were as low as $1.32 per gallon for regular unleaded in Port Angeles.
In Port Townsend, regular unleaded gas prices started at $1.30 per gallon, but Safeway customers using a discount card could purchase the fuel for as $1.27 per gallon.
Rates were slightly higher in Port Hadlock, with regular unleaded prices starting at $1.38 per gallon.
