A former Port Angeles woman has created Christmas ornaments from oysters that will decorate the White House Christmas tree.
Deb Stoltenberg, who lived in Port Angeles from 1990 to 1995, created the ornaments in Westport-based company, Oysterments of the Sea.
Stoltenberg takes leftover shells, adds Swedish clay, and sculpts Santa Claus, witches, mermaids, mariners and the like.
Four of the Santa ornaments and a Betsy Ross figure will be presented in a box to President Bush in early December, Stoltenberg said earlier this week.
Ornaments were also presented to former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in 1999, she said.
