FORKS — About 425 high school students and eighth-graders have been shown the impact teenage drinking and driving can have by watching the impact of two crashed cars.
The mock crash was staged last Friday at Forks High School’s Spartan Stadium and involved a teen drunk driver crashing a car carrying three other teens into a vehicle carrying a husband, wife and child.
A teenager and the mother in the other car were said to be killed, and several others were injured.
The mock crash was the senior project of Forks High School students and cousins Jake and Dustin Gaydeski and took several months to plan.
Senior projects require 30 hours of community service — the Gaydeskis volunteered for the Beaver Fire Department.
The department requires some type of public education presentation, and the students chose a mock crash scene.
