Forks: Shooting suspect arrested in Port Angeles

A Forks shooting suspect was arrested in Port Angeles on Friday following a tip from an informant.

Lombardo Ceja-Gomez, a 31-year-old Mexican national, was arrested for first-degree assault at the Super 8 Motel following a brief struggle, Port Angeles police detective Cpl. Jack Lowell said.

Ceja-Gomez is expected to appear in court this week to face formal charges which could include possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, first-degree assault, and an illegal border-crossing charge.

Police say Ceja-Gomez shot 22-year-old Juan Ortiz-Cornego of Forks on May 27. Cornego was treated and released from Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.
