FORKS — School officials will decide Friday whether they will allow a student previously convicted of animal cruelty, theft and sexual assault to play baseball this spring.
Quillayute Valley Superintendent Frank Walter reinstated the 17-year-old boy’s athletic eligibility in January, allowing him to join the Forks High School team after nine months on suspension for the crimes.
The district’s athletic policy requires 12 months suspension after conviction of a heinous crime.
The School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Friday in the district’s Administrative Board Room, 411 S. Spartan Ave., to continue discussing the issue.
