FORKS — A 2001 graduate of Forks High School was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to attend a medical training institute.
Kristin Weed, 18, was named a Joe Martin Scholarship winner by Bank of America.
“I was really surprised to win,” Weed said. “I knew they only gave out a few scholarships a year, and was thrilled to be chosen.”
Weed will attend Pima Medical Institute in Seattle, focusing on radiology.
“It was an honor for her to win,” said Weed’s mother, Colleen. “There were a lot of applicants this year. I am very proud of her, she has worked very hard.”
