FORKS — Police hope a blood test on the body of a man found this week in a creek will reveal more clues to the circumstances of his death.
“It looks like it probably was a drowning,” Forks Police Chief Mike Powell said Thursday.
A blood screening, which may take a week or more, should indicate whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the man’s death, Powell said.
The victim has not yet been identified.
“Now we’re just working through the process and trying to lift the (finger) prints and check the databases,” Powell said.
The body was discovered Monday afternoon lying on its back in a shallow creek in a wooded area at the west edge of a Forks Sand and Gravel pit.
