FORKS — With only 303 votes counted in the Forks mayoral race late Tuesday night, Nedra Reed held a strong lead over incumbent Phil Arbeiter.
Returns showed Reed with 201 votes and Arbeiter with 102.
The vote count — which will include late-arriving mail-in ballots — will resume Friday.
“It’s been a good race and I’ve enjoyed it, and we’ll just wait for the voters to see who they choose,” Reed, 60, said.
There are 1,438 registered voters in Forks.
Arbeiter could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
Pat Mansfield and Tim Fletcher, who ran unopposed, were elected to two Forks City Council seats.
Mansfield had 200 votes by the end of the vote count Tuesday night, Fletcher had 215.
