FORKS — A girl who used paint to express her love for reading won a national contest and 500 books for her classroom.
First-grader Elizabeth Brown, 7, entered the “I Love Reading” poster contest sponsored last fall by Troll Book Clubs.
Her poster was selected as the national winner in January and will be featured in the book club’s April catalog, which is distributed throughout the United States.
Last week her class received 500 books for its classroom library. The class is donating some of the books to the school library and some to a kindergarten and a third-grade class.
Each student from Elizabeth’s class also can select a book for his or her home library.
