PORT ANGELES — A legal challenge to fluoridation of the city water system is headed to the state Court of Appeals after the state Supreme Court refused to hear the case.
City Attorney Bill Bloor said both sides in the dispute have filed their initial written briefs and now await scheduling of oral arguments, which could be in September.
Any decision could be appealed to the Supreme Court by either side, he said, but noted that the state’s high court already has refused to hear the case once.
Since May 18, between 0.8 and 1.2 parts per million of fluoride has been added to the Port Angeles city water supply.
