PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Rotary Club puts out thousands of imported flower bulbs for sale Sept. 19 and 20 to raise funds for its community service projects.
In addition, patrons who pre-purchased bulbs in July can pick their bulbs up either day.
The Rotary Club -— the North Olympic Peninsula’s oldest —_ will set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the southeast corner of First and Washington streets.
Daffodils, tulips and other bulbs from the Netherland Bulb Co. in Holland are the highlight of club’s eighth annual sale, which is timed for fall planting for spring blooms, said Rotarian Austin Lee, chair of the fundraiser.
The sale raises money for the noon Rotary Club’s scholarships and community projects _— including the milelong “welcome garden” that blooms along U.S. Highway 101 east of the city limit each spring.
