Final scheduled power outage for West End set for early Sunday

FORKS — The final of four planned electrical outages is set for the West End early Sunday morning.

The outage is planned between 12:01 a.m. and 6 a.m., and will shut down power to all Clallam County Public Utility District customers in the Forks area, Jefferson County south of Forks, Sekiu, Clallam Bay, Neah Bay, Beaver, Sappho, Pysht and all areas west of Lake Crescent.

Clallam PUD officials said the Bonneville Power Administration scheduled the series of four planned outages to maintain its equipment at its substation at Sappho.

The previous outages in the series were July 28, Sept. 8 and Sept. 21.
