PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Film Festival continues through today — 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. — with documentaries, narrative features and shorts.
Passes start at $40 while $15 rush tickets are sold at the theater door 10 minutes before show time.
For those without passes or tickets, the Key City Playhouse, 419 Washington St., and the Jefferson County Library (www.JCLibrary.info), are showing free films.
As a finale, “A Hard Day’s Night,” starring the Beatles, will light up the big screen outdoors in front of the Rose Theatre, 235 Taylor St., around 7:30 p.m. Admission and straw-bale seating are free.
The Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water St., is the festival’s hospitality suite with information and passes for sale; details are also abundant at www.PTFilmFest.com.
Among the short-film programs screening this afternoon is “The Secret Life of Muslims,” a series of short, first-person documentaries featuring a diverse group of American Muslims. Rais Bhuiyan of World Without Hate (https://worldwithouthate.org/) will moderate the program at 3 p.m. in the Cotton Building theater, 607 Water St. in downtown Port Townsend.
Also today, “A Special Afternoon with Charles Burnett” will have the Oscar-winning director and his newest documentary, “The Power to Heal,” appearing at noon in the Starlight Room, upstairs at 237 Taylor St. The venue has just 45 seats, so patrons are encouraged to arrive early.
