PORT ANGELES — The week-old consolidation of airlines at William R. Fairchild International Airport will result in more available seats for passengers flying to Seattle’s Boeing Field despite a reduced number of flights.
Scott Strong, destination marketing manager for Kenmore Air Express, said the consolidation of Kenmore’s routes with those of San Juan Airlines — which ceased operations at the Port Angeles airport on May 7 — has added a second eight-seat aircraft to the Port Angeles-Boeing Field flights.
Now instead of one eight-seat aircraft flying 11 times a day, there are two eight-seat aircraft available for seven daily flights, Strong said.
The second plane will be flown if more than eight seats are sold for a flight, he said.
“Kenmore Air is providing more available seats to passengers than existed when both airlines serviced the route,” Strong said.
“The ultimate goal is to serve Port Angeles passengers in the most efficient manner while making best use of the aircraft in the Kenmore Air Express fleet,” he said.
