Fans already were lining up Thursday at Lincoln Theater in Port Angeles to buy tickets Tuesday afternoon for the third movie in the “Twilight” saga, which will be shown in both Port Angeles and Port Townsend early Wednesday morning.
“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” which is based on the third book in the vampire novel series set in Forks and Port Angeles, will be screened early Wednesday morning — after midnight Tuesday — at both the Lincoln Theater, 132 E. First St., Port Angeles, and at the Uptown Theatre, 1120 Lawrence St., Port Townsend. Festivities are planned in both Port Angeles and Forks to commemorate the movie’s release.
The first fan in line Thursday at the Lincoln Theater was Brianna Gilbeck of Port Angeles.
Gilbeck camped out on the sidewalk to beat the crowds.
“The first year, I didn’t even get to see the midnight showing,” Gilbeck said of the first movie in the series, “Twilight.”
“So last year, I camped out for two days and one night,” to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
“But this year I wanted to be the first,” Gilbeck said, “so I planned on lining up six days in advance.”
Friends Michael Groves and Mary Jahns said they planned to keep Gilbeck entertained and safe, but might not spend every night on the sidewalk with her.
Tickets
Tickets will go on sale at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Lincoln Theater for both a triple feature and the 12:30 a.m. Wednesday screening of “Eclipse.” Advance tickets are not available.
The triple feature will begin at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, with “Twilight” — which was released November 2008, followed by “New Moon” — originally released in November 2009 — before “Eclipse” is shown.
Tickets are $20 for the triple feature; $10 for “Eclipse” only.
At the Uptown Theatre, “Eclipse” will be shown at midnight, with the box office opening at 11:15 p.m. All tickets will be $8.
Fourth movie in two installments
The fourth movie, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” will be split into two installments with the first released November 2011. The date for the last movie has not been announced.
Dazzled by Twilight, a store specializing in Twilight memorabilia, is organizing events in Forks.
“We thought it would be great to roll it over into the Fourth of July events,” said owner Annette Root.
Forks will begin celebrating its Old Fashioned Fourth of July on Thursday and continue through July 4.
Root said she planned “Eclipse”-related events beginning Tuesday. She did not provide times for the events.
They are:
• Tuesday: A $350 VIP package for the premiere. Those attending will receive a private tour of Forks, dinner at the Kalaloch Lodge and a stroll on the beach.
The group will continue to Aberdeen for a triple feature of the two earlier Twilight Saga movies, followed by a midnight showing of the third, before returning to Forks for an overnight stay.

• Friday, July 2: At the free Eclipse Newborn Ball at The Twilight Lounge, 81 N. Forks Ave., guests will be encouraged to wear red, white or blue attire with formal attire preferred, but optional.
• Saturday, July 3: Throughout the day, Dazzled by Twilight, 11 N. Forks Ave., will hold trivia contests, look-alike contests, music and others for free.
A special preview of new “Eclipse”-related merchandise, which will be released on July Fourth, is planned late that evening.
The Twilight lounge will have live music in the evening as well. The day will wrap up with a bonfire at dusk at Rialto Beach.
Port Angeles games
In Port Angeles, trivia games will entertain fans as they line up to get their movie tickets on Tuesday, said Barb Frederick, Port Angeles Downtown Association executive director, Thursday.
“We’re also decorating the stores that have a connection to the books or movies with red ribbons — symbolizing the red ribbon on the cover of Eclipse,” Frederick said.
The downtown association has coordinated with the Elwah River Casino to bring a 1953 Chevrolet pickup — the model driven by Bella Swan, the heroine of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire love story novels — to the Laurel Street fountain area for photo opportunities for fans from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The casino is coordinating a contest to give away the pickup — which touts a Washington state vanity plate that says “Vampire.”
“Anyone who signs up for our club card gets a chance to win,” said marking coordinator Joni Eades. “Then the more points they earn by playing at the casino, the more chances they get to win.”
