Govenbment meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with Hoch Construction Inc., for $128,655 to install an electric vehicle charging station in the parking lot at the county courthouse during their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Monday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A discussion of a proposal to open a beer garden at the county fair.

• An agreement with the city of Forks reestablishing county jurisdiction for shoreline permits within the Forks’ city borders.

• An agreement with the state’s County Road Administration Board for $111,360 to partially fund improvements to Edgewood Drive between Reddick and Rife roads.

• A call for bids for the courthouse landscaping project; bids must be received by 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 13.

• An amended agreement with the Department of Health regarding Health and Human Services activities.

• An amended agreement with the Commerce Department regarding the multi-jurisdictional gang-drug task force to fund a digital money counter that will produce documentation that is admissible as evidence.

• Discussion and a call for a public hearing on Tuesday, June 27, regarding a petition to vacate a portion of Hermison Road in Forks.

• An amended agreement with Shannon and Wilson for the Lower Dungeness River floodplain restoration project.

• Discussion of a draft revision of the landscaping ordinance.

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct a public hearing regarding a grant for the early learning and family support center project when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

They also will conduct a retreat at 4 p.m. Monday to discuss strategic planning.

The commissioners will hear a presentation and take action on the mineral resources land overlay for Miles Sand and Gravel and will hear a briefing on Department of Natural Resources forestry issues from the 2023 legislative session.

Items on the consent agenda include a notice of a public hearing at 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, regarding the proposed changes to the fee schedules for Parks and Recreation and an agreement with the state Military Office for an additional $21,690 funding for JeffCom E911 services.
