EYE ON JEFFERSON: Joint city/county housing board to consider RFP

The Joint Oversight Board on Affordable Housing and Homeless Housing will consider finalizing a facilitator request for proposals when it meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The board — made up of Port Townsend city and Jefferson County officials — will meet in the county commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

It also will consider a recruitment notice and application form seeking people to be appointed to a homeless housing task force.

County commission

The three Jefferson County commissioners will open bids for the South Discovery Road Pavement Preservation Project at a meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

The meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

The bid opening for the project estimated to cost $440,885 will be at 10:15 a.m.

Commissioners also will conduct a public hearing on a proposal to dispose of surplus county property in Quilcene.

On the consent agenda is the setting of a hearing on adopting biennial budgeting in the county. The hearing would be set for 11 a.m. March 11.

At a 1:30 p.m. briefing session, commissioners will hear a presentation on the Big Quilcene Riparian Protection Project.

Planning commission

The Jefferson County Planning Commission will review the Comprehensive Plan annual amendment cycle and code updates at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The special meeting will be at the Tri-Area Community Center at 10 West Valley Road in Chimacum.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council and city Planning commission will discuss the Rainier Street and Upper Sims Way Subarea Plan when they meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The joint workshop will be in council chambers at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

They will review the plan and schedule adoption.

The Council Finance and Budget Committee will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will consider on a first reading action on restroom management and parking when they meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The regular session will be in chambers, 333 Benedict St.

Commissioners also will consider communicating with the Federal Aviation Administration about a need for 100 percent funding for phase 3 of the Jefferson County International Airport Runway Rehabilitation Project if it is to be in 2019. The port will tell FAA that it cannot fund on-site construction activities until 2020.

Chimacum schools

The Chimacum School Board will discuss a document on solutions for declining enrollment when it meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Chimacum High School, 91 West Valley Road.

The board also will consider policies on excused and unexcused absences and digital citizenship and media literacy.

It will hear an update on grade reconfiguration.

Jefferson Healthcare

Jefferson Healthcare commissioners will consider approving two collective bargaining agreements with United Food & Commercial Workers Local 21 when they meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The board will meet in the Victor J. Dirksen Conference Room on the first floor of 834 Sheridan St.

The collective bargaining units are the registered nurses and a combined unit of professional technical/service/clinic employees.

Commissioners also will conduct an executive session at 5:25 p.m. to review the performance of a public employee.

Development authority

The Fort Worden Public Development Authority board will consider authorizing the executive director to enter into a contract for glamping tents when it meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will be at Commons Building 210, Room B at Fort Worden.

Rainier Industries was the low bidder for the 15 tents for the Glamping Project, according to the agenda.

The board also will consider designating the executive coordinator as the public records officers and hear an update on Makers Square.
