EYE ON JEFFERSON: Commissioners to administer OlyCAP grant

The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider on the consent agenda administering a $100,808 Community Development Block Grant for the Olympic Community Action Programs when they meet Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in commissioners’ chamber in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.

Commissioners will conduct an executive session regarding attorney client privilege and exemptions to the state open public meetings act at 11 a.m.

No additional items are on the regular agenda, although the meeting will include a public comment period and a commissioners’ report.

The grant to OlyCap will go toward public services for low- and moderate-income people in Jefferson and Clallam counties.

Other items on the consent agenda include:

■   Scheduling a hearing at 10 a.m. July 20 in commissioners’ chambers to discuss second quarter budget appropriations and extensions for various county departments.

■   An agreement to assume monitoring service costs for the Jefferson County Jail fire alarm replacement project with no additional fund allocation required.

■ A change order to spend an additional $4,094 for phase 2 of the Paradise Bay Road project to pay for removal of two trees.

■ An agreement with the state Department of Ecology for well inspection, based on fee for service.

■ Reducing a contract with Concerned Citizens Community Access by $10,410. The original contract was for $19,440.

■   An agreement to allocate $2,000 for Youth Mental Health First Aid training administered by Jefferson County Public Health.

■ A $3,500 contract with Marine Resources Consultants to conduct underwater videographic eelgrass survey of a portion of shoreline near Port Townsend.

Port Townsend city

The Port Townsend City Council meting originally scheduled Monday has been cancelled.

Council office hours, during which members of the public can discuss any topic with a member of the City Council, take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in the mayor’s office at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.

No other city meetings are scheduled this week.

Port of Port Townsend

Port of Port Townsend commissioners will conduct a regular meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday in chambers, 333 Benedict St., preceded by a workshop at 9:30 a.m.

Public utility district

Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners are scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
