EYE ON JEFFERSON: Approval of Port Ludlow Associates plat to be considered

The three Jefferson County commissioners will discuss a plat approval request at a meeting Monday.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in chambers, 1820 Jefferson St.

The request from Port Ludlow Associates seeks an extension to design and construct the second phase of the Olympic Terrace II project, which was first approved in 2007 but was postponed due to economic conditions.

Since that time, the company has sought and received several extensions. If the commissioners approve an extension, construction would need to begin by June 28, 2017.

The project has already generated $23,377 in fees for the county.

At their 1:30 p.m. briefing, commissioners will discuss hearing testimony on the county six-year transportation improvement plan for 2016-21.

Items on the consent agenda include:

■ Acceptance of a $42,076 grant from the Washington State Office of Public Defense to improve the quality of public defense services.

■ A $4,650 contract with the Chimacum School District for the district’s Birth to 3 Years program.

■ A supplement of $2,000 for the contract with Hultz-BHU engineers of Tacoma for the Jefferson County jail’s fire alarm replacement. The supplement will increase the contract maximum to $10,100.

■ Accepting a $73,000 grant from the state Department of Ecology for the Marine Resources Committee.

■ An agreement to allocate $11,580 to Mental Health Court,

■ An agreement to allocate $14,469 to adult drug court and family therapeutic court.
