The Sequim City Council will conduct a public hearing on extending its marijuana moratorium when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
The council adopted a moratorium Feb. 24 for six months. It must decide before Aug. 24 if it will extend the moratorium.
The council also will consider extending preliminary approval of the Priest Road Center binding site plan for one year because economic conditions have not recovered sufficiently for the development.
It also will consider accepting equipment and overtime funds from Clallam County through a Department of Homeland Security Operation Stonegarden grant.
The mayor will present a citizen commendation award to Raven Crawford for his actions in helping a woman who was being assaulted.
It will consider proclaiming Monday as Sequim Honeybee Day to honor “the contributions and achievements of the honeybee.”
The proclamation notes the pressure on honeybees from colony collapse disorder and says, “Albert Einstein has been attributed as saying that once bees leave the planet, the human race would be four years behind them.”
Clallam County
The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement between the state Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and Friendship Diversion Services to establish and operate a sobriety program.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ A contract modification with the U.S. Forest Service increasing funding and updating language for noxious weed control.
■ Notice of an invitation for bids due Sept. 2 for improvements to Old Olympic Highway between the Dungeness River bridge and Mariott Avenue.
■ A resolution appointing members to the Port Crescent Pioneer Cemetery Board.
■ Resolution creating a Sobriety Program Fund.
■ Notice of the availability of the preliminary 2015 budget.
Commissioners will meet in the same room at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session to discuss the action items.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will discuss the port receiving a security-related $701,063 Federal Emergency Management Agency grant when they meet in regular session Tuesday.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. in the public meeting room at the port administrative building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
The Port Security Grant Program funds will be spent on upgrading surveillance cameras, lighting, access control and cybersecurity at the port’s marine terminals.
Commissioners also will discuss the master policy report, second-quarter financial statements and a second-quarter capital projects report.
PA Utility Advisory Committee
Port Angeles Utility Advisory Committee members will consider changes in the way utility customers pay when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting, which will be a joint meeting of the committee and the full Port Angeles City Council, will begin at 3 p.m. in the Jack Pittis Conference Room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The changes to be considered would affect how much of a utility’s true cost of operation is paid for by utility customers. They must be made before proposed utility rate adjustments are discussed later this year.
The meeting’s other agenda item is a recommendation on the city’s proposed 2014 electric utility resource plan.
Port Angeles city
Port Angeles City Council members will hold a special meeting Tuesday during which they will meet in executive session to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Jack Pittis Conference Room at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Clallam PUD
Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will conduct a work session on the results of a cost-of-service study Monday.
The work session will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Port Angeles main office, 2431 E. U.S. Highway 101.
They also will consider proposed alternatives to the current rate design by Utility Financial Services consultants.
Conservation district
Clallam County Conservation District commissioners will discuss state Department of Ecology grants when they meet Tuesday.
Commissioners will meet at 3 p.m. at 228 W. First St., Suite H, Port Angeles.
They will discuss an aquifer recharge project design and implementation grant and a Floodplains by Design grant for the McDonald Creek Irrigation project.
Also on the agenda is the shellfish model stewardship program, the pollution identification and correction plan update, and the 2015 elections.
Fire District No. 2
The Clallam County Fire District No. 2 commissioners will meet Tuesday for a regular board meeting.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the District No. 2 fire station at 508 N. Baker St. in Port Angeles.
A workshop originally set for Monday has been canceled.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will conduct a public hearing on amendments to the animal control ordinance when it meets Monday.
The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
The proposed revisions define how dogs are to be under the control of their owner, the required management of female dogs in heat, penalties for owners of barking dogs or other noisy pets, dangerous-dog seizure and appeal processes, lower licensing prices for spayed or neutered pets, exemption of service dogs and police dogs from licensing fees and how long stray animals will be held by the city.
The council also will consider a lease agreement with Masco Petroleum Inc. and a contract award for the Maple Avenue sidewalk project.
Port Angeles schools
The Port Angeles School Board will meet Thursday.
