EYE ON CLALLAM: County to conduct public hearing on sale tax hike

Government meetings across Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on a proposed 0.1 percent sales tax increase to support affordable housing at 10:30 a.m. during its weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The hybrid meetings will be conducted in Board of County Commissioners meeting room in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

• An agreement with the city of Sequim for the county to administer its affordable housing sales tax funds.

Assoc. of counties

The Washington State Association of Counties will hear a weekly update on COVID-19 when they meet at noon Monday.

Both Clallam and Jefferson counties will participate.

Planning commission

The Clallam County Planning Commission will continue discussion of the proposed forestry ordinance at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.

Port Angeles city

The Port Angeles city council will hear public comment regarding the possibility of using the volunteer practice field as a site for the proposed joint public safety facility during a special meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The council will conduct its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The hybrid meetings will be in council chambers at city hall, 321 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles.

Olympic Medical Center commissioners are scheduled to meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Fire District 3

Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will discuss the 2021 financial report from the state auditor’s office when they meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
