PORT ANGELES — Two international students who attended Peninsula College are being detained by the federal government and are scheduled to return to Mongolia later this month.
Students Munkhzul Dolgorsuren and Bilegbat Orgodolsukh were granted voluntary departure during an immigration court hearing Thursday morning in Seattle.
They are scheduled for departure May 25, said Greg Gagne, spokesperson for the Executive Office for Immigration Review in the U.S. Department of Justice.
They are being held in a detention facility until their return home, Gagne said Thursday.
“This has never happened before,” Peninsula College’s Acting Vice President for Student Services, Maria Pe^pba, said Thursday. “It is not something that we expect to happen again. We have had wonderful experiences with our international students.”
