Election forum in Quilcene set for Oct. 15.

QUILCENE — A forum featuring candidates for Quilcene School District Director-at-Large Position 5 and Port of Port Townsend along with discussion of the proposed county charter Proposition 1 is planned for Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The forum will be at the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101, at 7 p.m.

It is free and open to the public.

The forum is co-sponsored by American Association of University Women, The Port Townsend Leader, and League of Women Voters-Jefferson County.

Expected participants include Quilcene School District Director-At-Large Position 5 candidates Keith Meyer and Greg Brotherton; registered ballot measure committee representatives Bruce Cowan speaking for

NoCountyCharter.com and Valerie Phimister speaking for “Yes! On Home Rule” (she also represents the Community Rights Coalition of Jefferson County); Port Commissioner District No. 2 candidates Peter Quinn and

Brad Clinefelter; Port Commissioner District No. 3 candidates Leif Erickson and Peter Hanke.
