PORT ANGELES — Tickets are available now for a Klallam Earth Day Beach Cleanup Challenge concert planned April 21.
Singer-songwriter Danny O’Keefe and multi-instrumentalist Joel Tepp will be perform at 8 p.m. that Saturday at Wine on the Waterfront, 115 East Railroad Ave.
Only 40 tickets are available. They cost $40 each.
The two musicians are donating their time for this performance, which will benefit youth programs at the Arthur D. Feiro Marine Life Center.
The show is produced in association with the Guacamole Fund, which is paying for their expenses.
The concert is part of the 2012 Klallam Earth Day Beach Cleanup Challenge, a waterfront clean-up campaign with a particular focus on plastics recovery.
Events are planned from Tuesday, April 17, through Sunday, April 22.
Registrations are being taken now for the main cleanup Saturday, April 21, which will be followed by a volunteer appreciation event that afternoon at The Landing mall.
Most events will be free. They will include an Earth Day-related art show, exhibits, a swap-meet, music and dancing to the tunes of Deadwood Revival’s Jason Mogi and Paul Stehr-Green, and a “trashion” show for the best clothing or costume made from recycled and reused materials.
O’Keefe made his reputation in the 1970s and has continued to release albums.
Fans may know him best for his “Good Time Charlie’s Got the Blues” or Jackson Browne’s version of “The Road” from the classic “Running On Empty” album.
Tepp has regularly added his slide guitar, harmonica and clarinet stylings to the music of Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, Danny O’Keefe, Iain Matthews, Spencer Davis, Caroline Aiken and others.
