Dungeness: Home destroyed by fire

DUNGENESS — A candle burning in a bedroom is believed to have caused the fire that destroyed a home early Saturday.

The owner of the home, Vickie Ferdig, and her son, Wayne, escaped the blaze at 813 Primrose Lane without injury.

Fire District No. 3 Chief Steve Vogel said Mrs. Ferdig’s son told him he’d left a candle burning when he went to bed Friday night.

Vogel did not provide a damage estimate.
