CAPE GEORGE — A 21-year-old Port Hadlock man was in jail Monday pending charges of vehicular assault in connection with a one-car rollover crash that left three injured Sunday night, a Washington State Patrol spokeswoman said.
State Trooper Krista Hedstrom said hit-and-run charges were also being considered in the crash in which Carl Ross Nagy was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass coupe west on Cape George Road at about 8 p.m. when the vehicle left the road to the right and rolled over, coming to rest on its wheels. His injuries were unknown.
“One or two took off into the woods,” Hedstrom said, but it was unclear from the investigating trooper’s report whether Nagy returned to the scene or turned himself in to authorities.
He was booked into Jefferson County Jail after the incident Sunday night and remained on the jail roster Monday.
Injured in the crash was passenger Peter Gabriel Johnson, 19, of Port Townsend, who was transported by a private party to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton with a serious hand injury, the report stated. His condition Monday was unknown.
Cody Alexander Hewett of Port Townsend, 20, was taken by a private party to Jefferson Healthcare hospital where he was treated for a shoulder laceration and released, according to the report.
Aaron Emergy Nolan, 18, of Port Townsend was treated at Jefferson Healthcare for multiple contusions and released, the report stated.
