SEQUIM — A broken down state Department of Transportation construction truck backed up eastbound U.S. 101 traffic from early Friday morning into the afternoon east of Sequim, according to State Patrol spokeswoman Katherine Weatherwax.
The roadway east of Sequim Bay State Park had a flagger and one lane alternating traffic.
“A construction truck was blocking the roadway because it broke down,” Weatherwax wrote in an 12:40 p.m.email.
”We didn’t get the call till 3 hours later, because people thought it was road work.
“Tow is on scene we have traffic alternating.”
Social media users were reporting traffic backed up to the Washington Street off-ramp heading east.
