DISCOVERY BAY — An 83-year-old Marysville woman was killed and an elderly couple from Sequim were critically injured Wednesday in a two-car head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101.
The crash, which occurred just after 3 p.m. and snarled traffic for hours, took place in the eastbound lane of the highway when a car carrying the woman, Sylvia F. Rogers, collided with a 1995 Jeep Cherokee carrying Irene Bogh, 79, and William Bogh, 82, of Sequim.
The Boghs, who live on Fircrest Drive, were flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where they remained in critical condition Wednesday night.
Rogers was declared dead at the scene, near the U.S. 101 intersection with Uncas Road south of Discovery Bay.
Her daughter, Roberta R. Keltner, 48, who was driving a blue 1990 Ford Tempo, was listed in satisfactory condition at Harborview on Wednesday night.
Keltner, of Monroe, La., was visiting her mother.
