Discovery Bay: More interviews planned in fatal crash

DISCOVERY BAY — Investigators plan to interview two more witnesses to the two car-crash on U.S. Highway 101 that killed a Marysville woman Wednesday and injured three others.

Washington State Patrol trooper T.D. Beebe said Saturday he plans to interview two more people, but said the interviews may not help determine the cause of the crash.

A preliminary interview with crash victim 79-year-old Irene Bogh of Sequim yielded little new information, he said.

“She said she didn’t have any knowledge of how it happened,” Beebe said. “We may never know exactly how it happened.”

The crash occurred Wednesday when a 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Bogh crossed the centerline of the highway and slammed head-on into a 1990 Ford Tempo.

Sylvia F. Rogers, 83, of Marysville, a passenger in the Tempo, was killed in the crash.

Her daughter, Roberta Keltner, 48, of Monroe, La., suffered a broken leg in the crash and remains in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, hospital officials said.

Keltner was the driver of the Tempo.

Bogh remains in satisfactory condition at Harborview, hospital officials said.

Her husband, William, a passenger in the Cherokee, remains in critical condition with head and chest injuries.
