Democrats in Clallam and Jefferson counties will elect delegates to the state convention and consider county party platforms Saturday at gatherings that begin at 10 a.m.
The state convention will be June 25-26 in Vancouver, Wash.
Clallam County
In Clallam County, Democrats will elect 14 delegates and seven alternates when they meet at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St., Port Angeles.
All who want to participate in voting for delegates, resolutions or the party platform must register before 10:50 a.m.
The convention will be called to order at 11 a.m. in the school gymnasium.
In Clallam County, each delegate candidate will have one minute to tell the convention about his or her qualifications or interest in participating in the state convention.
The convention also will consider adopting at least 13 resolutions and an updated county Democratic Party platform, and will consider whether to endorse any Democratic candidates for Congress, the state Legislature, county commissioner or county prosecuting attorney.
Sack lunches, beverages and snacks will be available from members of the Clallam County Democratic Club by donation.
All Clallam County registered voters who sign in and declare publicly that they are Democrats will be eligible to participate in the convention.
The convention will be open to the public, but only voters who register will be given credentials for voting on delegates, resolutions, the platform or any candidates.
Those who are 17 years old and who will be eligible to vote on Nov. 2 are also eligible to participate on Saturday.

Jefferson County
In Jefferson County, Democrats will elect nine delegates and four alternates when they meet at the Chimacum High School Auditorium, 91 West Valley Road.
All attendees can seek election as delegates.
County convention attendees will focus on crafting a simple, clear document that defines Democratic values as they relate to Jefferson County.
Revisions to the platform take place every two years.
The county also will work to pass resolutions, which can be forwarded to the state party for consideration.
