High gas prices haven’t gone unnoticed, with customers filling up their tanks.
The problem?
“You gotta drive, you gotta pay it,” said 17-year-old Henry Palmer as he put gas in his vehicle Saturday evening at Chevron on First and Albert streets in Port Angeles.
Prices have been jumping several cents a day while the demand for fuel remains about even.
On Saturday, several gas stations were charging as much $1.90 per gallon for regular unleaded and $2.09 for premium gas.
“When you wake up in the morning, you don’t know what it’s going to be the next day,” said Tyler Marsh, 63, of Kirkland, who was filling up a Ford Escape at Tesoro on First and Lincoln streets in Port Angeles.
Regular gas there cost $1.90 per gallon.
“It costs a lot,” says Marsh.
Thor Rampenthal, 18, who put gas into his car at a nearby pump, said the high prices make him think twice about filling up.
