JOYCE — Lee Keown, the Crescent High School girls basketball coach, has been named the school’s head boys and girls track and field coach.
His hiring was approved by the Crescent School Board on Jan. 25.
Keown has served the district as a long-term substitute teacher role at different times during the past year, according to athletic director David Bingham.
“He is familiar with Crescent students and is respected by them,” Bingham said in a news release.
Keown was a head track and field coach in Alaska. He also has experience as a middle distance running coach and jumps coach.
“He is planning to work with both middle school- and high school-aged students in an effort to increase student turnout this spring,” Bingham said about Keown.
