Clallam: United Way campaign kicks off

The annual United Way of Clallam County campaign begins Saturday with local celebrities sacking groceries at stores in Forks, Port Angeles and Sequim.

“It was very easy to recruit people,” said Patty Hannah, executive director of United Way of Clallam County.

Celebrity sackers will work two-hour shifts between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at stores countywide, Hannah said.

The new parking lot is using permeable pavement over a layer of gravel of 2 feet to 4 feet thick. The project is retrofitting the east city hall parking lot with a new stormwater detention and treatment infrastructure.
