PORT ANGELES –Clallam Transit System officials on Tuesday quelled rumors that they plan to cut bus service to Sequim.
“(Sequim riders) are not in any danger of losing their bus service right now,” Clallam Transit General Manager Dan DiGuilio said.
His comments followed a meeting of the transit board to review annual expenses and discuss the upcoming 2003 budget.
Clallam Transit is facing an estimated $150,000 shortfall in revenues for its 2003 budget, DiGuilio said.
Some of that deficit can be covered by reserve money, he said.
A preliminary 2003 budget has not been drafted.
Clallam Transit’s 2002 operating budget is $5.1 million.
The board has made no decisions regarding raising fares or cutting services, but it is looking at under-used bus routes, DiGiulio said.
