Clallam: Special election filing opens today

A special three-day election filing period opens today for six public offices that attracted no candidates during the regular filing period last week.

Those positions are:

* Sequim School Board, District 3.

* Quillayute Valley Park and Recreation District, Positions 1 and 2.

* Fire Protection District 1, Position 3.

* Fire Protection District 5, Positions 1 and 2.

To file, a candidate must be a registered voter in the district.

Declaration of candidacy forms are available in the Elecstion Center, located downstairs in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Filing closes at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
