PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Fair will host up-and-coming country music performer Brian McComas as this year’s headline act.
The three county commissioners on Tuesday approved a $9,000 contract for two performances by McComas at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in the fairgrounds’ rodeo arena.
McComas was chosen by the fair board, and the commissioners gave it final approval.
“In a turn-around with the older guy last year, we’re going with a younger guy this year,” said Joel Winborn, county manager of parks, fair and building maintenance, referring to last year’s performer, veteran country music singer Hal Ketchum.
About 1,200 showed up for each of Ketchum’s two performances last August.
The fair’s concerts are free with paid fair admission.
The 2004 county fair runs Aug. 19-22 at the fairgrounds, 1608 W. 16th St.
