The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a felony assault charge against a Clallam Bay Corrections Center inmate who allegedly threatened a kitchen cook with a broom handle on Saturday.
Corrections center spokeswoman LeAnne Fletcher said the details of the incident were being sorted out Sunday. The inmate normally works in the prison’s kitchen, where the incident took place, she said.
“Officers talked him into giving up the broom,” said Fletcher.
The inmate was placed in the prison’s intensive management unit until the investigation is concluded, Fletcher said.
